USA #1 SOCCER KIDS

Meaning of our group name.

Carlo came to the States as an exchange student from South America to the Mid West. He attended a Private Catholic high school and graduate. When he graduated he saw that the #1 School in the country winning NCAA Division 1 was, "Southern Illinois University" with coach "Bob Guelker" (one of the players for the US National team beating England in the 1950's). Carlo drove to the school and requested a tryout. Guelker gave him a partial scholarship. Carlo homesick could not stay in the States for the full year as an exchange student so he went back to South America at end of the 7 months. Carlo came back to SIU-E for the Summer and trained with the team including traveling to Holland Belgium with other two schools in the charter plane, "Quincy" and "Saint Luis University". "SIU-E" beat all the team in Europe. Carlo almost lost his eye in the tournament being kicked in the eye, realized that having a scholarship meant that the coach had full control over the player. Carlo did not like that. If you have an unfair coach you will be at his wishes and at the bench. The game is very political thus it can get complicated and wisdom is needed it to navigate its waters

Carlo went back to South America for Christmas and a mayor even took place in his life. His mother, that he was very close to, being the youngest of the family, passed on an airplane crash. Carlo then asked his father to send him to study in Barcelona-Spain since the States was just a little too "cold" for him.

Carlo then studied at the University of Barcelona and was in charge of the University of Barcelona soccer team "Empresariales" Department for a year or so of the three and a half he studied in Barcelona.

His dad re-marriage 6 months after the passing of his mother. His dad requested Carlo to come back or he will be on his own. Carlo decided to get financial independence from his dad, to survive he collected money for his ticket back to the US, he played under second division in Spain near Barcelona, with a fake name. Carlo also worked for the Consul of his Country in Barcelona and once he collected enough to pay for his ticket flew back to the States before his visa closed.

Carlo went back to SIU-E at end of August, however, Guelker did not have scholarships since it was almost starting of Fall Semester and had given the rides before Summer. Guelker though kind enough and seeing the great potential in Carlo recommended Carlo to one of his ex-players who was in charge of a different school. That coach took Carlo in and start all over again his education, leaving the 3 1/2 years of school in Spain and 1 in South America.

Carlo thought it was interesting and could not understand that the schools he played in the Mid West kept on using "We Are #1" when they were not. Took a long time to understand this concept and the deep meaning thus now he uses as his site in respect to the great American people, friends and hosts family he loves deeply, who open up their hearts and saw the potential of this humble human being.

Carlo was requested to sign a contract with Second division team to try out for "Barcelona FC". Carlo did not want to lose control of his soccer freedom then choose not to sign and returned to the States to finish his University studies in the Mid West, winning full rides, playing and even coaching them, like the "University of Illinois" in Urbana-Illinois. Even though the University of Ilinois was only a club, schools who knew of Carlo skills played against the "U o I" club Carlo conducted. In Indianapolis, he played with players from Indiana University a powerhouse in the country Division 1, on friendliest versus Trinidad and Tobago as well as versus Brazil preparing for the Pan American games. Indiana asked Carlo to be in charge of the "State of Indiana's Women's team" for one year. The team excelled.

Carlo moved to Los Angeles when his girlfriend from Indianapolis attending Pepperdine - President of the best sorority house asked him to move to Los Angeles. Los Angeles has been very difficult for Carlo but finally, Los Angeles seeing the greatness in Carlo now is opening its doors to him. Carlo stayed in California since he had a kid and wanted to be near him. Now his son is 20 years old then Carlo is free. It is because of the immense love for his kid that Carlo is teaching other kids.

Carlo perhaps best accomplishments besides of winning tournaments in Holland and Belgium, have been training in Buenos Aires with one Argentinean National team with the # 1 player in the world, "Diego Maradona". Further Carlo won "The Tournament of Nations" in Miami as well as several "State Games" in Illinois and Indiana. Carlo having family all over South America has lived in different countries and has learned the different styles use by South American countries. Carlo believes strongly in the beauty of the "Jogo Bonito" of Brazil, and the tenacity of the Argentinean and Uruguayan ways of playing, and never to give up.

Carlo then has lived and seen the growth of the game in the States and is willing to pass his knowledge of the game to very nice kids on the West side of Los Angeles.

Carlo recently met "Luiz Dos Santos" from Brazil and became friends. Then this group will be conducted by these two people Luiz and Carlo. "Luiz" has played pro for different teams in Brazil like Democrata FC, Portuguesa DC, Vasco Da Gama, and we can see him in a picture with Pele and Ronaldinho Gaucho. Brazil is the place were the creation and having fun is the key for the best players at the beat of wonderful "SAMBA" from Brazil.

Luiz and Carlo have coached all levels of soccer, like AYSO, Club, High School. In fact, Luiz and Carlo are coaches with Autobahn-PCFC in Santa Monica. Even if your kids play for a club it does not mean that they are getting all they need. Any kid playing with clubs will be well served to come to train with Luiz and Carlo as a complement to what they need in their own clubs or pro teams.

People can easily obtain a license, but that does not mean they know how to play the game or know how to coach the players. Luiz and Carlo had lived the game all over the world, then this two humble people will guide your kids correctly and honestly as to where to go-what to do to improve. It is not coincidental that some of the best soccer players come from South America, thus Luiz and Carlo will guide your kids to play at higher levels if they like, or simply enjoy people at the sound of beautiful Samba. It is not coincidental that Luiz and Carlo whenever they touch a team that team has a particularly wonderful way of playing that no other coaches can imitate.

Carlo background is Finance being a stockbroker for Merrill, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, and UBS in Beverly Hills. Carlo is going back to school to get his JD in law to further help other people of good faith. Three books of very interesting and deep histories are coming in the near future showing the great service to the country and its great citizens by this humble human being. Perhaps Carlo is being protected by God since Carlo left his family when he was 17 years old and God became his protector all over the world.

ON SUNDAYS WE PLAY SMALL GAMES AND IS OPEN TO ALL KIDS WHO WANT TO COME AN PLAY A GAME FOR AN HOUR OR SO.

Please call to confirm time since parents have different activities.

"Josh" is the kid on the bottom left. "Nick" is the tallest kid standing up.

COLORS OF OUR UNIFORM: WHITE. Carlo's dad took him on his shoulder when really young, 3 or 4 years old to a game of "Santos" from Brazil, one of the best teams on earth, with "Pele" number 1 player in the world at that time. "Santos" uniform white. Carlo also liked Real Madrid when "Alfredo Di Stefano" from Argentina played for them, and they were solid White. Then, colors of our group will be "Solid White" in honor of the goodness of great people on earth. Carlo is a friend for years of a Korean family in Los Angeles who were his clients as a stockbroker at UBS. We are waiting for the right time to have uniforms of our group made by them. Carlo is extremely loyal to people acting in good faith with him at all times.

THE WONDERFUL KIDS WE ARE FINDING IN THE USA READY AND WILLING TO BECOME PART OF THAT TEAM THAT IS GOING TO BE ONE OF THE BEST ON EARTH.

Luiz & Carlo are in heaven they could not ask for more. Wonderful place to practice, great air, people exercising all around, at the same time that they help the most precious people of God on earth, his angels-kids. Thank you, Dear God.

PRO LEVEL UPSL UNITED PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE

Carlo in 2019 became involved with the LA Wolves soccer team as an assistant of First Team.

Yan owner of the LA Wolves as well as his partner Joel took a liking on Carlo and he is with them now.

Carlo also has groups of kids in Beverly Hills as well as Westwood now besides of the Santa Monica group.
